As someone said, I don't know who, that the main drawback of the film is its protractedness. Perhaps this statement is true, but only for the first 40 minutes of the film (this is quite a long time, but if we consider that its duration is 2 hours 34 minutes, then probably still not so much). To be honest, I looked at these 40 minutes for 4 days - a little bit at a time, because everything seemed a little boring to me. But when the trial began in court, I watched the remaining time of the film without interruption. because it turned out to be a very exciting and addictive action, when you get the feeling that you are in the courtroom.
Of course, there are practically no unexpected plot twists, the process goes smoothly and properly. There is no reason to doubt the outcome of the case, but the confrontation between the heroes of James Stewart and George K. Scott is an excellent sight, the highest class of acting, and one cannot but look at it.
