Dracula will not scare to death or surprise with an exciting plot. To the modern viewer, the film will rather seem ridiculous. A grotesque style inherited from silent cinema: in places lurid, in places indistinct, crumpled plot; and the sudden The End. But all this fades every time Bela Lugosi appears on the screen. Acting in this film is everything. The distraught Dwight Frye does not give a second to doubt the talent of the cast.
I urge you to watch "Dracula" with your heart. That is, aesthetically, this is the only way to perceive the old Hollywood cinema. Atmosphere, acting and aesthetics are the three pillars on which this picture is built.
You can criticize this work as much as you like and there is a reason. But it was the image of Dracula performed by Lugosi in the 1931 film that formed in people all over the world. Why? Because he was the first? May be. Because he was lucky? Quite. And maybe the reason for that is what is written above.
Whatever the case, there will be no other image of Dracula in the hearts and souls of the world community. Therefore, to all interested, fans and just onlookers for a general presentation, I warmly recommend watching this movie. This is a good movie.
