Traditionally, we want to note the cast, although there is almost no one to note. For an average viewer the faces of the characters are unlikely to be familiar, but those who are already seasoned in watching TV horror movies will probably recognize a couple of faces from the previous projects with all sorts of monsters, fans of TV series will probably see some old friends too, especially if they strain their memory a bit.
In terms of characters, traditionalism reigns supreme with cops, criminals, Indians in the know and ordinary citizens not in the know. In general, though the actors are well suited to their personages, i.e. they are not beyond the stereotypes, but they are not unforgettable for the spectator, though a pair of (approximately once or twice) pretty heroines is in the film - a blonde waitress and a brunette doctor who mysteriously brings people back from the other world with her artificial breath...
The beginning is the most impressive part of the movie. So at least the first minutes are sure to pass with interest and just unbelievable surprises in the behavior of a passing parts dealer and catching a dangerous criminal. The rest is worse: standard running around with no interest, no undressing, no intrigue - nothing to remember. But the finale, again, came out not bad - there is something to look at in a couple of moments of much more interesting and intriguing than the main development of events, action. In principle, for the sake of the beginning and the finale the picture is worth watching, but you have to watch the middle in order to understand the whole good idea of the denouement.
The second part also resembles the original, except that Riker's story becomes a little clearer, with an emphasis on the past and a return to the present. During the course of the movie I wanted to see the most realistic horror film with the psycho in the desert (look at the beginning), because though the offered spectacle with the paranormal killer, impenetrable invisible wall and living corpses is rather original, it looks cheap and sad... Although again, the decision to diversify the genre with another monster from the other world is commendable, but the implementation leaves a lot to be desired.
