In order to lure the audience, the makers of the film did a very cunning thing: they wrote on the poster of 'Aces de Droit' that Ben Affleck was in the leading role. Of course, the audience got hooked on it, and then no less talented actor Ryan Reynolds appears in all its glory. As such there are no leading roles in the movie - each character firmly takes his position and each of them is a link in a long chain of events, which comes down to one man who started all this meat grinder.
At first the movie may seem a little tedious, a lot of things are obscure, but soon the plot twists so that you cannot tear yourself away from watching it even if you do not really understand what the movie is about. All the threads are intertwined, forming a bloody tangle that only unravels towards the end.
I don't know if this movie is a newcomer to the genre, but it is definitely a very high quality film and drags on a bit. I really liked the acting of Ryan Reynolds and Ray Liotta. The ending is quite decent.
