X' is a slasher horror film in the style of similar '70s movies about a group of teenagers who rent a farmhouse to make a dirty adult film and then make money from it. As you can easily guess, throughout the film the characters will be followed and hunted by a 'killer with a knife'.
The film immediately picks up the atmosphere and style of filming, the action is very unhurried, the editing is sometimes quite offbeat. It's also nice that the characters are given time to reveal themselves in their dialogues, each of them though conforming to horror clichés, but they are not silly and unforgettable bait for the killer and each has a story, goals and motivations.
The absence of computer-generated blood and guts is also pleasing to the eye, everything looks natural and tasteful. Like the murders themselves, during which the director clearly shows his love for the genre of the old generation with atmospheric visuals that make the viewer feel uncomfortable both physically and on a deeper level.
Nowadays I only welcome the release of such cinema, and maybe this picture will not be to everyone's taste: here you will not find unexpected plot twists, abrupt body movements with a jumping camera in the style of modern thrillers or other modern chips. I recommend to get ready to savor the film with every frame, dialogue and action with all your senses in order to soak in the classic, old-school horror, made with maximum love for the genre.
