The relentless cheese dictator has plunged the once prosperous Switzerland into culinary madness! Free-thinking citizens are dying under the onslaught of a ruthless lactose producer's regime. The Swiss world will never be the same again! Labor of honest toilers is ruthlessly exploited in secret laboratories, while the self-proclaimed president of Switzerland savors his own mirror image with a passion. Who will put an end to the people's suffering? There's a mountain maiden here.
A raging thrash and hilarity from Swiss enthusiasts. Somehow this movie reminded me of 'Iron sky', the same production in the spirit of a flamboyant rampage of pathological characters. Crazy Heidi is pure grindhouse, a tribute to the exploitation of cinema, where they played the theme of the Third Reich in a completely schizophrenic interpretation. Cheese maestro Casper Van Dien rules over a frightened people, while his Joe Pesci-like pretentiousness creates a concentration camp movie-inspired absurdity, with a touch of bloody hilarity. Among tons of slapstick thrash, 'Heidi' is a great production, and it's good to see that it doesn't have a minimal green screen, and that it's a film set on location that takes up the bulk of the action. The same goes for the soprano work - hello to Rodriguez's grindhouse.
And in general the whole movie is a theater of absurdity of serious shenanigans. Van Dien, by the way, dried out for some reason, and a very sickly-looking one, perfectly plays his cheesy dictator. The role of Heidi is played by a similarly trashy madame. The movie is lovingly set, but there's one thing wrong with it: there's not much blood, and I'd like to see more of those cheesy zombies. But, even without that the movie was a success, a solid b-movie on cheese and social themes.
