The entire Scream trilogy is the best youth horror there is right now.
In the words of Randy from Scream 2, 'All the sequels are just cheap'. But Scream is not that movie, you can't call it cheap, everything is filmed properly. The murders are more and more elaborate, all the actions of the maniac make sense, in this case he is looking for Sydney Prescott.
I am also glad that the murders are shown without cruelty, for example other directors like to have bitten off limbs and all sorts of snot in the frame, but Craven is not the director who shoots such things. The direction in this movie is just wonderful and others need to learn from Wes.
The script - it's simply priceless. Kevin Williamson is just a guru in writing scripts for the whole trilogy.
The acting. She is simply delightful, there are no words. Gail Weathers - she is no longer that scandalous journalist of hot news, who endlessly chases sensation. In the third installment, she's soft, trying to help the investigation.... As for Sidney (Neve Campbell) herself, I noticed her brilliant acting while watching the first part. In each part of the trilogy you experience all the events together with her - it's worth it.
Also in the movie is a brilliant idea - it is a movie within a movie, we watch Scream-3 and at the same time Stabbing-3.
The Masked Killer - I sympathize with this character in every part, especially in the third part, all the murders committed by him are very elaborate.
Music, Marco Beltrami wrote amazing soundtracks. Even George Lucas said - 'Music is 50% of success for a movie'.
And completing all this writing, yes maybe this movie will not seem scary to you, but it is terribly interesting, throughout the time you will be worried for each character....
