I'm back from a film screening of the Milaine Farmer concert recorded in Europe's largest concert hall, La Defense Arena, which was shown simultaneously in a dozen countries today in one single unique session. 150 show staff, 45 truckloads of equipment, 1,800 workers, 70-meter stage, costumes by Jean-Paul Gaultier, dramaturgy by Laurent Boutonne, direction by François Anssa, Sting as a guest. Of course, this is not a concert, but a real religious service according to a canon that does not change from tour to tour. Only Farmer can work with emotional, mystical and religious layers in such a way. A separate story about appearance - the work of surgeons and cosmetologists is so flawless that it is not visible on any close-up of the 58-year-old artist, unlike Madonna, who disfigured herself in the pursuit of eternal youth.
Farmer is a real witch, who is not afraid of age and current musical trends. In the finale, Milen performs the composition 'l'Horloge' to Baudelaire's poems - after which she disappears in the flames that devour her, practically going up to the bonfire. It was with this song that Milen Farmer's first show of 1986 began, and it is the song that ends what may be her final tour in the finale of an incredible 33-year journey. At the end of the show, no lights were turned on in the audience during the credits because Mylene had a message for her fans. 'I am here for you. And you are me. The very same concert.
