Blood Sucking Freaks 4K 1976

The film by Mr. Joel M. Reed called 'The Incredible Torture Show' can be recognized as a kind of mind-blowing film absurdity, not the first and far from the last of its kind. After long doubts, I never decided to write a purely negative review of this picture. And here's why.

If we take into account the thesis that a movie, no matter what it is by its external attributes, necessarily contains at least some moral aspect regardless of the means of its expression, then in this case you can see even more than one such example with the naked eye.

Money. Perhaps, one of the most favorite themes of filmmakers of any rank sounds in this film. Mr. Sardou, this arrogant and duplicitous man (if he can be called that), does not think of hiding his love for money. For him, money is both a means and an end. What is forbidden can be bought. Including human life. Slavery still lives in the minds and hearts of people.

Cruelty. There's a lot of it here. However, paying tribute to the 'kinomorali' of those years, we can admit that almost all scenes with violence and blood are filmed more or less decently. Blood that looks like paint. Screams of horror, not at all inspiring horror. They don't make movies like that nowadays. Cruelty always breeds more cruelty, which is directed in the opposite direction. And this is convincingly demonstrated by the finale.

Nudity. Long gone are those times when talented painters admired the beauty of the female body and created beautiful paintings. In today's world, the lack of clothing on a woman in most cases in one way or another is regarded as obscenity. The era of free 70's actually erased the boundary between allowed and forbidden. As a result, there is a clear overdoing of this theme in a number of pictures.

Love, strangely enough, is also present here. Mostly material love and very little spiritual love.

Punishment for crime(s). Evil cannot go unpunished. The more evil - the more terrible will be the punishment.

The main question - can this movie be believed? Certainly, yes. But it is better, nevertheless, not to go so far away from this quiet and cozy life, inhabited by kind people who love it as themselves.
