This year, with all the premieres that have taken place, there's a decent amount of anticipated movies, and now it's time for one of them - 'The Nice Guys'. This year is full of 'superhero movies' in particular, but despite that, I was much more interested in this particular premiere. This kind of movie is becoming a rarity over the years, as most of the emphasis nowadays is on storyless special effects and other sci-fi stuff. Plus at the expense of all this is the most unpleasant fact that such movies periodically pay off with difficulty and not always the halls are filled to the brim, if the movie pays off, it takes quite a long time, while the next stamping of the Avengers tears up the kush literally in the first couple or three days of rental. I'm not saying that 'superhero movies' are so bad, I don't mind evaluating every premiere of this genre, but still, you should pay attention to such movies too and don't spare money for a ticket.
In the center of the plot we see Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) as a bouncer, paired with Holland March (Ryan Gosling) as a stupid and cowardly detective who is addicted to booze and cigarettes, who has a very mediocre attitude to his underage daughter, as well as to life in general. By chance, these two opposite personalities will jointly begin to investigate one twisted case, where the beginning of a tangled chain for them will be a porn actress, for unknown reasons flew by car in the middle of the night in a private house.
The story will be interesting and exciting from the very beginning, there is no time to sleep, which is so popular nowadays, judging by the reviews of many modern movies, so, fortunately, 'The Nice Guys' is not one of them. Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling come from a kind of movie actors who seem to be actors very talented and pleasant in appearance, but still they are filmed with large gaps in their careers, which are a year or more. Here they showed themselves only from the best side, and in general, the whole cast is cute, especially I note the cute little daughter of Holland March, which at this age played no worse than the others, so we can say with confidence that the cast is good.
Personally, I felt like the movie lacked a standout soundtrack for full curation. Yes, it wasn't bad, but it didn't feel atmospheric enough, not to mention the need for a sharp soundtrack during the action scenes. There was not enough half an hour on top, where it would be very appropriate to show a more in-depth history of the main characters and it would not be superfluous to give more time on the screen to the gangsters. Otherwise, everything is fine, both from the acting and humor with an interesting, unpredictable and twisted plot. If even suddenly someone does not like the plot, the movie itself can not be called a bad word, because it has enough pluses, for example, even the fact that over some scenes visually feel the effort of the creators, who presented them originally and with a twist, unlike the alleged 'action movies' of all sorts, which nowadays are riveted not only with a complete lack of plot or copycat, but also stamping at the same time even the same type of shooting pif pif paf paf paf paf tudy sudy.
Bottom line - Smashing detective, which has a well-tucked comedy part, also sprinkled on top of the pieces of action elements, well, and of course in addition with an excellent duo in the main roles, which in general contributed not only to a tempting wrapper for the trailer, but for the whole movie as a whole with a tasty stuffing. In particular we should emphasize the comedic moments, which are performed on a strong nickel and are able to laugh, as well as an interesting plot, it is not lewd, but still for a more mature audience.
