A mother and daughter move to a new house in Manhattan after the collapse of their family. Of course, they have no idea that on their first night there they will be disturbed by a gang of robbers. The gang breaks into the house, but the mistresses have a place to hide. The only problem is that the thieves need this very place ...
And that's when the action gets incredibly exciting and tense. It's been a long time since I've experienced something like this: some scenes literally took my breath away. What is worth such a fincher's trick as slow motion! Amazing!
The entourage of the movie additionally presses on the nerves. A big and half-empty house. Mysterious. And dangerous.
Wonderful casting! Most of all I liked Jodie Foster - fearless and loving mother, Forest Whitaker - already aged, calm and wise to life (I really sympathized with his character) and Jared Leto - just a young fool.
I wish more such quality thrillers, which combine convincing acting, and a cool plot and a rhetorical question: where is justice?
