Clint Eastwood is unforgettable. You can look at his face endlessly, and dream that somewhere there are such courageous, restrained, and very, very fair uncles, who appear at the right moment in the right place and save not mankind, not the planet, but a separate village or town.
Western as a genre has reached its perfection. And it became, like jazz in music, interesting not with new findings, but with an interesting combination of old and good material. This movie is standard, but that's what makes it good! We already know in the beginning that good will win, that evil will be disgusting, and the victory will take place in the last 5 minutes of the movie.
How stylishly evil is shown here. 7 scumbags in beautiful long white coats, fitted jeans, all bearded, big-eyed, silent and dangerous. They walk out onto the porch beautifully... and they're greeted by K. Eastwood. I'm not being ironic at all, I enjoyed this movie because it has everything you need for a relaxing after work day.
I would have given this movie a higher rating, but the casting for the female roles was bad: the actresses are not memorable, and they play as if they are doing a number. Well, and minus for the unimpressive music. And the rest - a classic western. There will be noble indignation, and offended poor people, and scumbag oligarch of the 19th century, and silent savior, and saloon with whiskey. And good will prevail.
Don't shoot the pianist, he plays as well as he can.
