In recent years, Zemeckis has not particularly pleased his longtime fans. His tapes were not that passable - still not “Forrest Gump” or “Back to the Future”. But with the drama “Here” the maestro made a leap that brought him back to the heights of the golden 90s.
Although many people probably won't realize it. Especially those who in the 90s were not even in the project yet. Regulars of tik-tok with their clip mentality have already started grumbling, saying, what's this crap, tedious for an hour and a half, everything could fit into a short movie. Well, in their own way they can be understood: when life runs from rils to stories, there is no time to think about some “Here”.
But Zemeckis' film implies thoughtful viewing. Thoughtful and attentive. It is not a linear picture, but a puzzle of many fragments that cannot be put together with a quick glance. And it is also important to get into the atmosphere of what is happening on the screen: it is here like the light of a table lamp, which helps not to miss a single puzzle piece. Only in this way - without rushing anywhere and without looking at your iPhone, concentrating yourself in the moment - you can really enjoy the film and realize that Zemeckis has once again given us a great movie. And in today's netflix times, it is a masterpiece in general.
