I watched this movie solely because Nicholson plays the lead role. The title alone makes it clear that the movie will be, at the very least, spicy. And while watching it, you are convinced of this. The film tells the story of two friends who have been searching for the perfect woman for many years. The story begins in college. Their concept of “perfect” refers more to sex and appearance than to moral values. Although, ideally, they want both.
Probably, at the time when this film was released, it was considered provocative. It openly addressed the topics of sex, free relationships, and the abomination of constantly changing partners. Now it even seems a little funny. Because now, in many ways, this is the norm. And for this, we should thank the director — he saw the future perfectly.
Nicholson plays a very interesting character. At the beginning of the film, you simply hate him, especially when he cheats on his best friend. But then, as the film nears its end, you begin to feel sorry for the character. And it's genuine pity.
