The creators of this film made the right decision not to make a sequel to Coffy. They took a different path. Using the same “strings” that were used in Coffy, Jack Hill once again made a film in which an enraged Pam Grier takes revenge.
Unlike Coffy, in which violence was evenly distributed throughout the film, in Foxy Brown, Pam Grier does not immediately seek revenge. But then she simply enjoys the situation, playing cat and mouse with her offenders.
In addition, Foxy Brown, unlike Coffy, is a calmer character.
I would also recommend paying special attention to the soundtrack for this film.
The result: another film in the style of Coffy. A film with a very ordinary and straightforward plot, which Jack Hill managed to shoot so stylishly and exquisitely that sometimes you just regret not living in the 70s.
And, of course, the wonderful Pam Grier. I think her role was one of the best in 1974.
