A two-hour tale of a curse...
The bar seems to be drowning under the torrential rain, living up to its name.
She sings. Her song is piercing and sounds like a verdict, like a spell—dry, monotonous, and merciless! He loves her; he watches her, drinks, and smokes, watches her again, and remains silent about his love. There is no conversation, only screams, slaps, blows, and pleas! This is a curse. It is a bottomless swamp that swallows him deeper and deeper, while the fog above him freezes his soul. He realizes he is doomed, but continues to follow her, watching her every step.
Two hours of headaches, two hours of philosophical musings characteristic, perhaps, only of the protagonist, but by no means to his credit. Two hours of rain, quiet laughter over a glass of cheap brandy, and dancing in wet boots.
“If they put you in jail—that’s just a temporary setback, but a real setback is always final.”
