Usually well-hidden intolerance, aggression and cruelty in a force majeure temperature regime irresistibly ask to go out, and it is no longer possible to do the right thing. And therefore, the sweet, old, cozy Italian pizzeria 'At Sala' turns into a real battlefield by the end of the day ...

So the life of one block in Brooklyn becomes the quintessence of racial relations in America during the "advanced democracy". It seemed that the film was already moving towards its happy ending: everyday sketches already speak in the subtext more than they really are. However, the conflict declared at the very beginning and already almost forgotten about the photographs of Italian celebrities that the owner of the establishment, the Italian Sal, hung in the pizzeria, comes to life and turns into a bloody massacre. Apparently, not being sure that his social concerns would be correctly understood, Spike Lee (who almost always stars in his films and played here the pizza delivery guy Muki) added a postscript to the plot of the progressive quotes of ideologues of the liberation movement for the rights of blacks - Luther King and Malcolm X ...

The third picture of the black Brooklyn artist Spike Lee is still his highest-rated creation. She won excellent press in Cannes, received two Oscar nominations, made solid box office receipts. But, most importantly, she defined a new direction and marked the phenomenon of 'rap cinema'. Short plans, optional transfers of remarks, in short - chatter about nothing ... Elusive and vulnerable from the point of view of terminology, Spike Lee's style found the ease here, to which he himself repeatedly tried to approach, but each time it was less successful.
