Orion Pax, along with his friend D-16, tries to find out the mystery behind the disappearance of the matrix. But they find much more than they expected.
Actors: the cast is perfectly chosen for voicing the characters, though we won't hear the famous voices of the stars. But the plot and its characters look very attractive. The following characters stand out: young and desperate Orion Pax and his friend Dee-16. I really liked the chatty B who doesn't lull for a minute. Keegan Michael-Kee did a wonderful job voicing him. It must have been a longtime dream of his to voice this character.
Lawrence Fishburne's voicing was especially impressive. His character is very wise and helpful.
Everything else: the director was Josh Cooley, whose contribution to the movie can hardly be called huge. During his career, he created quite a few masterpieces. Started with a cartoon about cronies - employees of a nursing home and their misadventures (George and AJ from the cartoon “Up”). His latest work includes the adventure franchise Toy Story 4, which won an Oscar under his direction.
The cartoon will be insanely appealing to kids who grew up on the LEGO line of cartoons. The cartoon, based on Hasbro toys, doesn't do anything supernatural. Just the average kid who comes to this cartoon and is a fan of Optimus Prime and the other Autobots will be over the moon.
This tape is somewhat reminiscent of the first 3D cartoons of my childhood about Bionicles. Only the graphics are more noticeable and have gotten better. Mask of Light, Legend of Meta Nui - you can talk and talk about them.
Brian Tyler's compositions are well chosen. I love it. I realize this is a children's cartoon, but even here it picks up the pace. First there is the adventure line of brave friends protecting each other from danger. And then the carefree and adventurous tunes are replaced by disturbing ones (when the heroes face the harsh truth).
Which of the characters has evil growing strong inside? You know which one! And someone decides to fight and restore justice.
The film's flair is given by harmless humor, and sometimes black jokes are in the theme. The screenwriters, and especially Eric Pearson, doing Marvel's conveyor belt, perfectly spelled out the lines of the main characters and created an interesting plot.
Impressions: a light and pleasant surprise from the creators. It's like going back to my childhood for a little while and watching Bionicles again.
Finally we get to see Megatron and Optimus' friendship before they become enemies.
