Peter Gabriel: Back to Front 4K (2014) is a concert film in 4K UHD format capturing Peter Gabriel’s outstanding performance at London’s O2 Arena in October 2013. This project was part of a tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of his iconic album *So*, one of the most successful and influential releases in the history of progressive rock. In the film, Gabriel reunites for the first time in many years with the original lineup that performed the *So* album in 1986–1987, including David Rhodes, Tony Levin, Manu Katché, and David Sancious, as well as additional musicians Jennie Abrahamson and Linnea Olsson.
The film presents a complete live version of the “So” album from start to finish, supplementing it with lesser-known and reworked compositions, as well as visual effects and complex staging. Director Hamish Hamilton’s vision emphasizes the theatricality of the show, combining large screens, dynamic lighting, and innovative stage elements to create a fully immersive concert experience. In 4K UHD with SDR and 10-bit video encoding, the video delivers high detail, crisp colors, and deep shadows, while the DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio system provides rich, spatially distributed sound. A concert masterclass by Gabriela, combining music and theatricality.
