After a perfectly decent and usable sequel called 'Halloween: 20 Years Later', the producers thought and thought and decided to disturb the decaying bones of Michael Myers one more time. And since the ending of H20 completely cut off all ability to make another movie in the series, the scriptwriters decided to fake the ending of H20. What came out was roughly what Annie Wilkes was talking about in Stephen King's 'Misery. The screenwriters of 'Resurrection' decided not to give a damn about the fact that Michael's head was cut off and played the situation in such a way that they killed not Michael at all, but a poor unfortunate framed policeman (it's very interesting why the innocent cop so actively attacked Curtis' character in the finale, and during the movie he had no chance to remove his mask). In general, the theme of the parents, boring from seven films, was disturbed and let Gemmie Lee go to waste, with very beautiful, dramatic music by the television composer Danny Luks. Next up: a movie in the pattern of 'Friday the 13th' meets 'The Blair Witch'.
A bunch of teenage idiots sneak into Mikhail Bat's abandoned house to get famous thanks to the Internet, smoke hookah, and have a good fuck. And, of course, Michael Myers is there to exact retribution in the name of Samhain. That's the whole recap of the opus. In addition to a very strange plot and absolutely worthless acting, 'Resurrection' also suffers from lame direction. You can name me a sensible movie by Rick Rosenthall, not counting 'Halloween 2' and 'Bad Boys' with Sean Penn in the leading roles back in the days of dinosaurs. All of Mr. Rosenthal's work is garbage and low-budget. Perhaps the producers hoped that Rick would shake off the old days and shoot something in the vein of his own 'Halloween 2'? Alas, the expectations were not met and the film failed practically by all criteria, although, perhaps, the most devoted fans of the series I think will appreciate it. And if you take into account the fact that 'Resurrection' will be followed by two completely worthless remakes, you can only weep here. Finitta la comedy, as they say.
