I'll never get tired of revisiting this comedy. It's more of a parody: two ordinary guys, listening to rock music, having fun, playing hockey, and hosting a youth entertainment show. They didn't need the money, but some nasty businessman gave them a contract and ruined everything. And the guys just wanted to run their own show.
So, the film does a great job of parodying the clichés of movies like that about simple but nice guys, and it is brilliantly presented. A lot of the scenes are amazing. My favorite is the scene where the guys are in their car listening to Bohemian Rhapsody, one of the best scenes of the movie. Also the awesome episode where Wayne reconciles with Cassandra ('Cassandra, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have learned to read!'). And of course the great final scene where they find out who the villain is, that's just a great banter.
The acting is brilliant. My favorite Mike Myers as Wayne is top notch! Along with his Austin Powers, this is his best role. Really, the character of Dana Carvey (Garth) is kind of vague, either he is a retard or he is just shy, I don't get it, but it is funny. And of course we liked Tia Carrere as the badass rock musician Cassandra too.
All in all, the parody turned out great. Bright, funny, bantering, with a lot of great rock music. The second part, by the way, is also good, but the first one is still better. I wish they would have released the film on DVD, so if they show it on TV again, by all means watch it.
