David Green's trilogy has come to an end. The ending was clearly not what most fans were expecting.
At one point it seemed to me that Green forgot that he was making a bloody slasher, for at least some carnage begins only after the first hour of the movie. The rest of the first hour of the movie shows us the new character Corey, a squishy nerdy kid who lives with his mom. And it is this character that will be the primary focus of the film. And this is where the first problem of the film begins to unfold. The movie is not about Michael Myers, Michael himself is in the movie only for 20-25 minutes. The rest of the time is primarily devoted to Corey.
In fact this movie is a drama with slasher elements. The murders in this movie are like an added element to the story.
Michael himself was weakened just wildly. People were expecting a massacre in the first place, a massacre where Michael carries on his work, but here the massacre from Michael is not particularly to be expected.
Jamie Lee Curtis is slightly more in the picture than Michael, but her storyline isn't really important to the movie except at the end.
To sum it up, this is not the picture that should complete the story of such a great maniac Michael Myers. You know, the idea may not be a bad one, but it is not presented the way it should be and at the wrong time.
