To watch or not to watch is everyone's business. And the sheer number of Oscars suggests that it's more likely to "watch. If only to make your own impressions. Which I did. Flattered, among other things, high praise and lack of negative reviews.
So - my impressions are very negative. Therefore I want to contribute to the review and warn those who have just decided to get acquainted with this creation. The film will not please everyone.
If you are not a fan of Chinese history you should think twice. Is it worth wasting 2 hours and 40 minutes of your life on THIS.
I would describe it as absolutely boring and boring. Aside from the costumes and decorations, I don't think there's much to see. They try to present to us the story of the last emperor of China as being wildly tragic. With childhood I can at least somehow agree, although the child is like cheese in butter and does whatever he wants, and of all the tragedy remains only a ban on leaving the city. The rest is even less tragic, not counting the not-so-large prison period. In general, compared to most of the last emperors (take, for example, Nicholas II), it's hard to call his story anything but happy. So I'm not sure that watching a "happy story" of a man little known to anyone is an interesting venture...
