I decided to watch the beginning of the movie just to see how it differs from the recently watched 'American Crime' and ended up dragging it out. And now it's the beginning of the fourth morning and I can't sleep. I can't get what I saw out of my head. People can be cruel, and sometimes they don't realize what they are doing. It's much scarier when children are cruel, really cruel. That, alas, is not uncommon.
It is definitely not a movie worth watching in company. It's definitely not a movie you should be advised to see. I often advise my mother and my wife to watch movies I have enjoyed. This time I will probably refrain, even though I liked the movie, I don't think they would understand. For a lot of people it will be too hard. You cannot simply ignore it, you just get caught up in the atmosphere of despair. Although the moral is very simple: if you can help it, help it.
The film itself is beautifully shot. The camerawork is excellent. The performance of the actors amazes. Although some may not even look 14 years old.
I will not judge. This is a film that is beyond evaluation. You just have to watch it... or don't watch it... save your nerves.
