It is highly symbolic that the religious salvation of mankind goes essentially to those in whom religion sees all the basic vices of humanity.
The destruction of the world was sent to mankind for idleness, adultery, gluttony, malice, violence, sodomy, and other actions that are inherent in the main characters and that inherently appear with the improvement of the quality of life of society.
Man is an animal, and when an animal doesn't have to take care of his life, his food and other basic things, he goes crazy, his psyche is disturbed and all the above mentioned things appear.
I would not say that this is bad from the point of view of logic and reason - after all, if you put aside the medieval darkness and lack of reason - it is better to live well than to suffer as bequeathed by almost all religions.
But undoubtedly, one cannot qualitatively change life for the better by abrupt jerks - otherwise there will be too many such crazy animals, not everyone has enough brains for self-control and a stable psyche for its self-preservation in the absence of any borders, requirements, duties and responsibilities.
In fact, modern religion is such a man-made obstacle to a 'too' good life. I don't know how to convey the idea better.
As for the movie - well, it's not so good. The only actor I liked was Batiste, the rest were just background and a couple of sweet cakes that were simply disgusting. There is not much of a thriller, in fact, from the very beginning it is clear where everything goes and you expect only two variants of development, no mystery or intrigue.
Plus the top of the most ridiculous endings was added from this film.
