One of the best movies for kids. I don't understand the inscription on the disk: 'Not recommended for persons under 18'. I watched it for the first time at the age of 6 and I assure you, if something affected my psyche, it was not this movie.
Also outraged by the label 'Difficult Child+One at Home = Matilda' - a blatant lie! 'Matilda' is not a movie for 'dumb laughs' at all. The movie is аbout:
- We often fail to notice what we don't want to notice;
- Cruel people tend to be the most cowardly and also the most superstitious;
- Children can be cruel, but never for nothing;
- Evil must be punished.
'You're little, I'm an adult, you're dumb, I'm smart, you're wrong, I'm right' is not just Mr. Wormwood's point of view.
Some parents simply must see the movie, not to mention educators. 'The best school is a school with no kids in it' - how does that feel, eh?
One of the best movie adaptations of Dahl. To a worthy book, a worthy movie.
