I liked the clip, but I didn't expect much from the movie, and decided to watch it for the sake of the director, who made a pretty good (according to the reviews, you should read it already) “Underwater”, and I haven't watched anything with Russell Crowe for a long time. However, despite the fact that this is a fairly typical “bashka” with an adequate budget, in technical terms, the director, who apparently has hands growing from where it is necessary, made everything competently and great. Yes, the movie has a bit long introduction, and the ending could be shortened a bit, but for the cool action, which William Eubank demonstrated in the fight scenes, I easily turned a blind eye to these shortcomings.
Filming in the jungle on location and no “cardboard” backdrops (hello “Unstoppable 4”), coolly shot shootouts and real explosions without CGI, excellent camerawork and spectacular use of rapids, just crazy sound (in scenes of shootouts, in particular, machine gun work or explosions really jaw in the floor), cool work with light, moderately bloody and harsh presentation - everything here pleases the fans of old-school action movies.
The actors are also all in place - Crowe is a charming badass and doesn't shoddy even in such a simple image - the man is convincing and damn good. Thor's brothers Hemsworth (yes, there are two of them) are generally normal for an action movie - they don't take the heights, but they don't spoil the porridge either, and the one who is very cool is Milo Ventimiglia - charismatic and pulls the blanket on himself.
As a result, it turned out to be a very good and strong special forces action movie with competent and effective action, made by a professional who knows his business. Very good.
