Interesting movie. I watched it for the first time back in the late 90s. It seemed original and even a bit scary to me then. Now, of course, it will not scare anyone anymore, but I still have respect for the plot - it's still interesting.
Recently I read the book by J. Windham, on which the movie was made, and I should give credit to Carpenter - he got more interesting than in the original.
аbout: one day the small American town of Midwich falls into a deep sleep. Upon waking up, the women discover that they are pregnant and the children are not from their husbands. The tranquility of the quiet town comes to an end. The children grow up, they have super-developed intelligence and superhuman abilities, they resemble each other like twins, walk in pairs, scaring passers-by, ready to take revenge on anyone who crosses their path. These children are alien to any emotions, they do not understand or experience them. The question is, how should the 'parents' be?
'The Cuckoos' liked it. Especially the main characters, David and Mara. Their acting is to be commended.
I still remember the final scene in the barn. The tension is unimaginable, it seems that you are in the very center of events. The music fully corresponds to the atmosphere.
A wonderful sci-fi movie! Check it out, you'll love it.
