As we all know very well, every new movie by the same director cannot be a masterpiece. So Clint Eastwood's 'The Eiger Sanction' is a qualitatively shot, but absolutely simple movie about training of human endurance, as well as about friendship, betrayal, deceit and only a little bit about love.
It is worth noting that this movie is a kind of SICKVILLE in a series of average movies made by Eastwood himself. This series definitely includes 'Play Me Before You Die', and also 'Through the Line', 'Fox of Fire' and a couple of other movies, where we see quality shooting, script, but also the same type of characters and a little food for thought.
In principle, it's not bad. After all, this is the beginning of the director's journey, and dry pictures are normal. But then again, the fact that the direction in 'The Eiger Sanction' is fine, as well as the music, camerawork and acting. But, why such a superficial plot, with a hint that it is here only for a 'tick'?
And if we evaluate the movie as a whole, then we have a good light life drama with elements of detective, with beautiful landscapes of mountains, as well as with young Clint Eastwood in the lead role.
