When a movie loses its original thought, the conveyor belt of tastelessness is filled with sawdust. Yes - the very sawdust that reminds of the former monumental grandeur of the carved monolithic masterpiece. You can't walk into the same water twice, and the next walk on the torture, - a shameless replica of the masterpiece, - a rake from the eighties, rusted and forgotten in the yard, hitting on the forehead, generating in the head the only thought - Alien 3 was not so bad in contrast to what society got after. And going to the movie theater, sitting in that very mercy seat, and watching a ton of the same-type trailer remakes without a single fresh thought, you already realize that there is no escape.
Alien was once the quintessential human fear, balancing terrific chamber saifai and semolina-free horror. Reviving its former glory is no longer likely to be possible anymore for James Cameren, who once gave us colorful characters from Alien in the form of Bishop, Vasquez, Hicks, Hudson, and other personalities, including little Newt, that peppered the charismatic characters. The new movie does a good job of describing a generation of know-names where personality is replaced by political correctness and tries to play on nostalgia as if Ellen Ripley's generation has atrophied memory. No, the modern cast can't cope with their task, which makes you feel nothing but indifference towards the characters. This is where all the problems begin. Further all as on the accelerated pattern - the inoculation in the form of darkness, facehuggers in the amount of hundreds of pieces on the scrolling, grudolomas, and, remember yourself, what other patterns were in the movies from the first to the fourth. And prepare yourself that the patterns will certainly be all of them, so it's unlikely that anything will surprise you even in the ending of the movie, if you did watch the previous installments. And if you haven't watched them, you're in luck - you have a chance to improve the quality in the end.
Probably, if you are a critic with a big name, and you have a lot of dough in your pocket, you will try to justify the movie, or title it almost the main chorror of the decade, but with such a request, except for your bad taste, you will not show anything, because originality of thought, freshness of idea or proper realization of the continuation in the form of human empathy, in the real cinematography comes first, and it is not here.
So what did it turn out to be in the end? It looks like a horror, but, except for disgust, this horror will not cause anything - a reference to Aliens vs. Predator 2. Kind of and saifai, but the attempt to recreate the atmosphere of the first parts, will not show a beautiful new world with a huge budget for drawing. It's kind of nostalgic, but the same angles of aliens, the same ways of killing do not stick anymore.
