In the name of the great engine it is not worth to shoot such a thrash and show it to the masses! To be honest, I was very surprised by such a high rating of the movie and the number of favorable reviews, probably because I wrote my own.
From the start the viewer is offered a certain picture of the post-apocalyptic world - eternal cold as a consequence of World War 3, a handful of surviving people. Everything seems to be normal and on the rolled, if not for one but - they live on a train for something. I.e. according to the author's idea, to survive in permafrost conditions, you need to be carried for years on a train around the globe, on tracks that are not even maintained but somehow work for decades. Why can't mankind take refuge on a hot air balloon, a carousel, a catamaran? What is this nonsense? Bomb shelters, bunkers, subways are not in fashion now?
In general, in the course of the picture there are a lot of questions: How did the heroes of the movie determine the climate change in the snow? Or maybe the snow has learned to melt at subzero temperatures? What do grasshoppers eat? Will a person who has never seen daylight quickly come to his senses when he sees a daytime winter landscape?...? etc. It is clear that fiction only conditionally can claim to be true and the possibility of what is happening, but when watching this creation there is a feeling that the screen is the ravings of a madman.
Of course, the main thing that is emphasized in the picture is the ideological component, explanation of the essence of the revolution, its motives, ideas/purposes, problems, perspectives, etc. The subject is quite popular now, I would say even pop (given the quality and quantity of material).
Oppressed but free people at heart, the powerful, the middle class, of course the supreme villain with his truth. Because of fanatical belief in the postulates invented by themselves and template thinking, the power does not notice changes in the world around them, does not see further than their own nose. It seems to be the same standard nonsense, not so bad and not worse than others. But if you look closely - the whole world is clearly white and black, you can immediately see who is bad, who is good, who is right and who is guilty, even the cart about balance and equilibrium Wilford at the end does not save, the decisions of the hero to make easy, all around just screams 'do it!'. In reality, the problems of resource distribution among people, the balance of social formations, religions and science are all very complex entities, problems that simply cannot have an obvious and simple solution that lies on the surface. And unfortunately, it is the path of least resistance and easy solution to all problems that we are offered everywhere.
