This is the most unusual samurai movie I have ever seen. The endless possibility of Japanese cinematography to give new impressions is pleasing, because no matter how strange for the European viewer a movie is, there is always a possibility to find even stranger.
Briefly about the plot: Bohati is an unusual samurai clan that has renounced 8 basic principles of samurai such as honor, loyalty, reverence, justice and others. The clan officially controls the market of sex workers in the capital city, thanks to which it has influence on all levels of officialdom and exists quite confidently and comfortably, although without much respect. But, as you can guess, everything goes not so smoothly - there is a market of illegal prostitution, controlled by another clan and the income begins to fall, to solve this problem, the nasty, black-toothed head of the clan hires the legendary ronin Killer Shito - imperturbable, as if completely devoid of emotion master of the sword, whose blade is faster than the bullet of a gun, but outwardly he seemed to me more like an elderly Indian than a Japanese.
The plot in this picture is far from the main thing, it is uncomplicated, predictable, does not contain profound dialogues (except for the phrase: ''Life is hell. But death is hell too.'') or complex moral dilemmas. It is a movie about the picture, about the visual series created by the director and the cameraman, there are a lot of unusual and impressive technical solutions that make the mechanics of the movie hard to compare with anything else. There are unusual lighting solutions, flying severed limbs and heads, an interesting way to show a stopped moment, a fight between several fighting prostitutes and ninjas in a clear field, opium hallucinations and of course dozens of naked Japanese bodies, and many other things that make what is going on look more like a crazy manga than a movie.
