In short, former Marine Levon Cade ekes out a living working as a foreman on a construction site. He lives in his car, trying to save money for a custody battle with his father-in-law over his daughter. He has given up killing, but when his boss's daughter is kidnapped and he promised to protect her, he returns to the terrible path of revenge.
I'll say right away that after The Beekeeper, I still had high expectations. The previous film was a pleasant surprise with its action and staging. Even the plot was very topical, because everyone is tired of telephone scammers. Here, something went wrong right away. There is no mystery behind the main character, and he is really just a simple marine. One of the downsides of the plot is that the main character's main quest seems to take a back seat, and the middle of the film is quite drawn out, plus there are a huge number of new characters whose names you won't remember. They also try to imitate John Wick, because there is a syndicate consisting of different gangs, but somehow they didn't quite pull it off.
In terms of action, it somehow became less ambitious. Almost all of it takes place at night, including the chase after the main character, apparently for the sake of economy. They didn't even give the hero any cool 1-on-1 fights. They tried to do it by showing the villain as a former soldier, but it came out kind of dull, because you don't even have time to get attached to the character. But I admit that the final fight still gives you a sense of catharsis from watching it.
As a result, it's not even that sad that Bee Keeper 2 won't be filmed by Air. The Master somehow looks like a step back after Bee Keeper, it fell in scale and action. And the picture became too gray and dark. You can still watch it once, but it's far from the best action movie with Jason.
