Visually, this film was stunning. The computer graphics and atmosphere were top-notch—especially the dragons, which came to life with breathtaking detail and realism. From scenes of them soaring through the sky to breathtaking landscapes, the visual effects truly captured the original world. However, the casting and acting didn't quite match the visual spectacle. The actor who played Hiccup made a commendable effort, but unfortunately, he had a huge role to play and was unable to convey the character's personality and nuances. The twins, who were constantly funny in the animated films, seemed disappointingly dull in this version—they lacked the quirky energy that made them memorable. Astrid was well cast, but her wig was distracting and threw me off balance on more than one occasion. Gerard Butler, on the other hand, was magnificent as always. His commanding presence and emotional depth gave his role much-needed weight and authenticity.
Overall, this live-action remake surpassed many of Disney's recent attempts. Despite its impressive technical components and visual beauty, it lacked the heart and soul that made the original so beloved. By focusing on realism, the film seemed to lose some of the warmth, humor, and charm that made the animated version a classic.
