This is the sequel to the film “Wonder” — a film about a boy with physical differences who is bullied at school. In fact, it is difficult to call this film a sequel, as it is only a continuation in name. The boy, one of the negative characters in the first film, is visited by his grandmother, who tells him the story of her difficult childhood in occupied France in order to instill in him the right values—kindness, understanding, and compassion. Therefore, this boy is the only connecting link between these films.
We are presented with a very touching war drama about how a boy and his family, who was bullied at school, hide a Jewish girl from his class in a barn, risking their lives and the lives of his parents.
Of course, this is an infinitely kind film, which, with enviable consistency, brings a lump to your throat and tears to your eyes. I don't think anyone could watch this story with indifference. This film is about kindness, freedom, helping others, friendship, love, and, of course, tragedy.
In my opinion, the acting is a huge merit. The main characters, schoolchildren, were beautifully played by young Ariella Glaser and Orlando Schwert. The young actors conveyed their feelings so sincerely and honestly that it was simply amazing. I am sure that both of them have a great acting future ahead of them.
