It's a matter of taste, really. In my opinion, the main idea of the film is that no matter how long your life is, it won't be enjoyable if you're just dragging out your existence. It's no coincidence that, according to ancient legends, humans were rewarded with a certain amount of time, not immortality. Immortality was a punishment. This idea of the film can be easily traced, unless, of course, you pretend to be an avid “film connoisseur” and turn up your nose at any film.
The film is based on comics, so it's no surprise that there are a lot of special effects. For a fantasy film, this is quite normal. There is also a love story in the film, so to speak. In my opinion, Charlize Theron did a good job with this storyline, and Marton Csokas is very, very good.
It may seem that the theme explored in the film has been done to death, but, gentlemen, excuse me, as they say, we only have seven notes. So it's practically impossible to do something completely new.
In my opinion, the film is quite good for its genre/idea.
