There’s a lot to say about this movie. It’s very unusual, and it’s unlikely to leave anyone indifferent. You’ll either love it or hate it.

Although this movie is, to some extent, based on a “prison” theme, it’s full of good-natured humor, love, and happiness. Serious on the one hand (since the events, after all, aren’t exactly a joke), it’s at the same time filmed in a very lighthearted and easygoing way. You’ll watch it in one sitting. Because every frame of this movie brings us another surprise, and we simply can’t tear ourselves away from the screen.

We become fully immersed in the film the moment it’s revealed that the prisoner who needs to be transported is actually a young woman. That’s when we realize we won’t be bored while watching. And it’s true: As the series unfolds, Tony Johnson comes up with more and more new ways to escape, Eddie Dwayne changes his outlook on life and his plans for the future, and the tough Rock gradually reveals his true nature—that of a kind and sociable person. But all of this happens gradually, and various events either accelerate or slow down these transformations.

Even though the film shows us just a little over two days in the characters’ lives, it feels as though much more time has passed. And therein lies the genius of this cinematic masterpiece. The characters seem to live an entire lifetime, for they undergo a fundamental transformation over the course of these two days. This journey brings them profound spiritual changes and also drastically alters their lives in a physical sense—for the better.

After watching it, your heart feels light, and you feel a warmth in your body. Americans have always known how to make films that touch the soul, and this one is no exception. I recommend everyone watch it—you won’t regret it.
