A funny story about young boys, young girls, and vampires. Zombieland is a simply terrific mixture of zombie horror, road trip, teen comedy, and party film: roaring funny, wonderfully bloody, refreshingly consistent, sometimes even creepy, but never level or kitschy. The camera, equipment, and score are top and director Ruben Fleischer ensures precise timing. The biggest plus of the film is the actors: Woody Harrelson (Tallahassee), Jesse Eisenberg (Columbus), Emma Stone (Wichita) and Abigail Breslin (Little Rock). Seldom has it been so appropriate to switch off the brain in the film as here. It's a cliche that zombie movies maybe, but it's true here: a few casual, big-mouthed heroes roam the area for an hour and a half, butchering blood-hungry monsters and then the credits roll. You can also clearly see that the script was actually intended for a television series: everything that happens in terms of storytelling means that 4 heroes come together in an apocalyptic world – and that's it. Now on 4K Blue-ray and Dolby Atmos.
