Yes, yes, this is a unique example of how the sequel managed to be better than the original in almost every way. And this despite my preconceptions that the film would turn out to be the worst part of the trilogy (they were based on the trailer, the audience reviews and something like a gut feeling). Fortunately, my expectations were not met and I saw the best film of the trilogy.

It had only been a year since the first film came out, and then the sequel came out. Despite this, it came out much more balanced and elaborate in detail than the original, though at the same time almost identical to it, such is the paradox.

We are faced with the same stereotypical banter as in the first part. Only here it covers not only horror movies, but practically all of Hollywood, the sequels and even the original film and its army of fans (the scene in the cinema is the best in the whole movie). It became a lot more fun, and the creators managed to find a balance between seriousness and humor this time around.

But what they screwed up was the plot. Despite the huge amount of humor and a ton of self-irony, the plot is sluggish and of little interest. It lacks intrigue, the ending, of course, surprises, but the main action is not particularly interesting. Although there are some rather curious moments. Especially pleased with the dialogue and the 'three rules of survival in sequels'.

What I certainly have no complaints about is the acting. Everyone is outplayed by Courteney Cox, who to me is the main face of the franchise. David Arquette was good. Neve Campbell looked a little weaker. I liked Timothy Olyphant. Jerry O'Connell was also good. Jada Pinkett Smith was memorable. Heather Graham, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Luke Wilson were memorable in the episodes.

As for the quality of the production, everything is also fine. The budget has almost doubled and it feels good. The visuals are excellent, the work of cinematographer Peter Deeming is pleasing to the eye. The soundtrack is also on the level, Nick Cave's song became the main musical theme of the franchise, a trifle but pleasant. And the atmosphere is very good.
