Merci La Vie 4K 1991

Once again, we encounter a reimagining of Bertrand Blier’s cult novel and film *The Waltzers*. Only this time, the focus is on the escapades of two outgoing young women. They start romances with ease and end them just as quickly.

Blier delves into feminist issues, and as a result, the plot gets somewhat lost. The topic of AIDS suddenly “pops up,” and then we find ourselves on the set of a film about fascists.

I think that the loss of the plot was, in this case, the most significant loss for this film. The film feels like rough footage from "Our Story" that was simply edited together and released as a standalone film.

Overall, the film leaves a rather vague impression: there are memorable dialogues and good actors—but the film itself gets lost behind them.
