Have you awakened the ancient powers of witchcraft and summoned three witches? Well, now you have to be responsible for your own actions, because hardly anyone would believe in this, especially on Halloween!
Three charming witches, a black cat, conical hats, a book of spells and a cauldron, a risen dead man and the atmosphere of an American holiday - these are the little elements of magic that, intertwining with a kind, interesting and at the same time light plot, take the viewer into a real fairy tale. This tale is already quite mature, as it was filmed back in 1993. But until now, in 2009, I have not been able to find something more interesting and enjoyable in this genre of cinema.
The film "Hocus Pocus" never gets tired of watching. The unique Sanderson sisters, performed by magnificent actresses, evoke not fear, but a sea of positive emotions. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Katie Najimi, who would have thought! What is only one call from the eldest of the witches: "Bookaaaaa !!!" ... This spell dramatically lifts your spirits, like many other moments.
As for the positive characters, then, of course, one can single out a girl performed by Tora Birch. She is open and naive, but very courageous and purposeful. And of course, the black cat is an ardent defender and just a good friend. What would children do without his help?
Despite the fact that "Hocus Pocus" is a children's or, I would even say, a family fairy tale, permeated with a variety of magic tricks and funny situations, it also contains moments in which you can feel sad and worry. In general, it combines everything in order to intrigue and delight us to the fullest.
So if you like to plunge into the world of oddities, pranks and magic from time to time, be sure to add this movie to your home collection!
