There really won't be 'extra words' here, neither in the review nor in the cartoon. There are no anthropomorphic characters in this cartoon, who would debate explaining their motives and actions. This is important to know if you are used to the already familiar presentation of the material. But...
In this cartoon the characters still perfectly convey their aspirations and characters. Yes, this is not a documentary about animals, so there will be cartoon assumptions and hyperbolized emotions.
The cartoon is 3D, all the environments are highly detailed, and the main characters are deliberately in a slightly different style. Which is exactly the right choice, so as not to feel the 'uncanny valley' as it was in the reimagining of 'The Lion King'.
The most important thing is that everything fits perfectly into the composition. I've said enough about the technical aspects, but I haven't said the most important thing - the plot, a very simple yet metaphorical and profound theme of salvation, consequences, the power of nature and compassion. Moreover, how often have you observed paintings from Latvia? Try it, the timing is not long, you won't get bored. Children? I don't know, but I think they will like it, I watched it with my wife as adults, just a couple of days ago.
In any case, empathize and 'cheer' for the characters you will almost inevitably. I did not think that I will put the highest grade, but as if such a work less to put somehow and do not want to.
