A crazy cocktail of high school comedy and 80s superhero action, this is an anime that doesn't let you get bored for a second. The main character A-ko is an unstoppable superpowered girl who accidentally destroys her school every time she tries to just live a normal teenage life. Her quiet friend C-ko and the rich B-ko, who is obsessed with her, create an endless cycle of absurd conflicts with mechs, kidnappings, and epic fights.
The 1986 animation is still impressively bright and dynamic - each battle is a firework of color and movement. The soundtrack with upbeat rock perfectly fits the chaos of the action. Parodies of Gundam, Macross and classic action movies hit the mark, especially if you're from the arcade era.
There are almost no cons - except that the plot is predictable (who would have thought an alien princess was behind everything?). But it's not a drama, it's pure adrenaline. The 4K HDR version looks fantastic in 4K HDR - the colors explode, the detail of the film scan is top notch.
Who to watch: fans of retro anime, mecha and anything that breaks the fourth wall. The absolute cult of the 80s in one movie.
