In fashion there is such a concept - couture. This is when a thing is made not on a conveyor belt, but in a workshop. It exists only in a single copy, because from start to finish it is created by hand. Every ruffle, every bead and every detail is born under the thread and needle, which are tirelessly wielded by the master. If this designation from the world of fashion is transferred to the magical world of animation, Snow White will be the first to receive a label with the inscription ''couture''. After all, it was she who became the first fairy-tale heroine to be filmed in a full-length animated cartoon.

A team of more than 700 artists worked under the direction of Disney for three years, creating a million drawings. At first, the budget for this project was half a million dollars, but this money was not enough and Walt Disney had to get into terrible debt, jeopardizing his entire enterprise.

Two million dollars was needed to bring the work to completion.

At the time, what Disney had in mind was considered crazy. And this was 1937. A time when not every movie was invested in such money, let alone a cartoon! But the risk paid off. The success exceeded all expectations. Snow White became the highest-grossing movie of the year, making Disney a millionaire! Of the eight received millions three went to build a new studio in Burbank (California), where over the future masterpieces worked already 1500 artists. The picture won the Grand Prix at the Venice Film Festival, which was not awarded to any cartoon neither before nor after. And by decision of the American Film Academy Disney received from the hands of popular actress Shirley Temple a unique award - one large Oscar statuette and seven small copies of it, the number of dwarfs! In general, Princess Snow White became a good genius of Disney and it is thanks to her, we see all these years of beautiful cartoons.
