In 1962, a meeting took place that shaped the fate of cinema. François Truffaut, a young critic and director of the French New Wave, conducted a series of interviews with his idol Alfred Hitchcock. Truffaut was obsessed with proving that Hitchcock, considered by many to be a craftsman stamping out "low genre" films, was in fact one of the greatest creators and innovators whose filigree art would change culture forever.
