American Pie' (the first and second installments, to be more specific) was an exemplary and epochal movie. Don't believe me?
Think back to yourself, how many times have you responded to the person you are talking to about a recently seen movie ‘...a youth comedy like 'American Pie’...'. In this case, that before ‘Pie’ that after it came out a lot of good youth comedies, ie the cycle can not be called the founder of the genre. And given that the above comparison is already used by a new generation of young people, which in the distant 99 was in infancy - the movie will be a benchmark for a long time to come.
There is no sense to retell the plot - it's just a solid medley of jokes, jokes and ridiculous situations of the characters.
The actors play quite well, and in some places and just great. First of all, of course, Jason Biggs. This role made him super famous, but at the same time it almost ruined him as a versatile actor - just as Elijah Wood will remain forever Frodo Beggins, Biggs will remain Jim from ‘Pie’. Of course, it's also worth remembering Seann William Scott, it wouldn't be a movie without his irritating character. Alison Hannigan (Michelle) is also a good girl. Well, and of course Eugene Levy - his optimistic smile to Jim and subsequent stories in the hospital are just ripping.
Curiously, ‘American Pie 2’ has entered the few number of movies when the second part is just as good, if not better, than the first.
