It was nice to see the journey from the Dianno years all the way to the present day in one programme. It really struck me how great some of the post 2000 work is in this context.
The biggest criticism is that the footage would constantly jump around from era to era often within the same song - so for example they may have been talking about the Number of the Beast album and playing a live track from that album but the footage would jump from various different tours taking you out of the time period. The editing was quite sloppy with footage not matching what was being played during live songs - especially the guitar work. Don't know about you but I love seeing what those guys are actually playing so would appreciate that they tried to match up the appropriate footage for those sections. Songs were sometimes edited removing whole sections or a line here and there which was something you see in movie soundtracks or adverts but didn't expect it in a documentary.
Ultimately this doesn't surpass the many documentaries that Maiden have produced for their various projects but I enjoyed it well enough anyway. 12 Wasted Years remains the best
