I'll tell you right off the bat, I've been getting frustrated with Marvel's new releases lately: they've stopped focusing on revealing the world and the characters and have moved into blatant fan service. This was the case until Morbius came along.
This movie (though the concept of 'movie' is too narrow for this masterpiece) is based on the comic book, but surpasses its original by many heads. The director has adopted much of Nolan's tradition and there is constant time travel on screen, but Daniel Espinosa does it much more morbidly. The film doesn't lead the viewer by the hand, but invites him to unravel puzzles of flashbacks and flashforwards.
The special effects in the movie are also done at the highest level. There are constant foggy motion effects on the screen that symbolize the blurred morality of the protagonist, and in this case, the 'anti-hero'.
This film morbidly sets a new bar of quality for cinema and art in general. If you haven't seen it yet, you probably don't exist, because the film is already collecting morbillions in theaters.
