As a result, many films suffer from a lot of logical errors. Director Ryan Johnson decided to work in a new genre for himself and tried to avoid numerous clichés and clichés.

The idea of ​​a time loop, which is the basis of this film, has been repeatedly exploited in world cinema. There were both mediocre pictures and masterpieces of their own kind. Therefore, director and screenwriter Ryan Johnson faced a daunting task. Such pictures are always based on a puzzling plot designed to confuse the viewer and make him look for answers himself. This prompted Johnson to not only try to avoid repetitive motives and patterns, but also to present a fresh concept. As a result, we got an original piece, but far from perfect.

The picture was created at the junction of several genres. This is a sci-fi action movie with neo-noir elements. It is also a dystopia, where crime essentially controls society, and the state that has experienced an economic collapse is in decline. There is a dramatic line of the existential type. All these elements emphasize the director's authorial approach to creating his film. Without a doubt, Johnson drew inspiration from the classics of the sci-fi genre. Entering the expanse of the intellectual sci-fi blockbuster, Ryan Johnson is not trying to revolutionize the genre, but rather wants to add something new. Not everyone likes this, many critics call him the most over-praised director. The truth is probably somewhere in between.

The main disadvantage of the film is the lack of a deep script background, so to speak, the second bottom. When you look at such pictures, you expect from them a complicated plot, but a certain philosophy. After watching it, I have no food for thought, which is not good for a sci-fi movie. There are also plot holes and misalignments. This turns the film into a good sci-fi action movie, but I wanted something more.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a wonderful actor, in the film he is so made up that at first he does not even recognize him. The makeup specialists have done a brilliant job of giving the actor an unusual appearance. Bruce Willis with an unchanging physiognomy is far from the charismatic guy from our childhood. But the old man is still good, although it looks static. I've always liked Emily Blunt. Her role is small, but important. It was interesting to see the aged Jeff Daniels.

The time loop is far from a new word in the science fiction genre. Having a fairly original plot, the picture lacks depth of thought. However, the presence of good actors, inventive style and action makes the tape a worthy candidate for viewing.
