Recently we saw a new picture of a rather talented director Craig Gillespie. Gillespie literally 4 years ago showed us one of his best films - 'Tonya against everyone' with Margot Robbie in the lead roles. And now, after 4 years, a stylish and daring picture 'Cruella' appears on the screens.
The plot tells about the girl Estelle, who lost her mother and joined a gang of young crooks - Jasper and Horace.
Estella was always different from her peers, she had an extremely extraordinary thinking, the ability to stand up for herself, and the main thing that interested her was fashion.
What is fashion? Fashion for Estella is life. She lives by this, constantly draws various new sketches, uses her thinking to create new models and follows her dream - to become the most famous designer.
And then our heroine gets a job in the most fashionable department store in London as an ordinary cleaner. But her zeal for dreams allows her to attract the attention of the Baroness - the main prisoner of fashion in all of London.
The Baroness is one of the most eccentric and pretentious characters I've ever met in films. And this is the main merit of the actress - Emma Thompson, who perfectly got used to the role and was simply irresistible. Her selfishness and arrogance are played brilliantly.
Emma Thompson is generally a real find for Gillespie, this is the very actress who made this film more beautiful. The actress has many worthy roles in her arsenal, and even has an Oscar. This role can be added to the list of her excellent works, 100%
Emma Stone is a completely finished story, an extravagant, daring and attractive person. Her performance by Estella is worth separate applause and praise. These costumes, these transformations are the icing on the cake! Emma has long established herself in a big movie as an excellent actress who can play absolutely any role. With so many good works to her credit, she added another worthy one - Cruella.
There is really nothing to say about D. Fry and P. Hauser, just a good role in their performance, but nothing more. Hauser, by the way, is not the first time he has worked with Gillespie, but I am glad that after the 'Richard Jewell Affair' he again let himself be remembered.
In general, Gillespie is good, the Baroness is smart, Estella is great. I am glad that 2021 is slowly making us happy with such kind of masterpieces, and for moviegoers this is a great happiness.
